Before the Session
- Be sure to
complete waxing or facials days in advance. These processes can leave
unnecessary redness on the face.
- Don't
get a new hair style just before a session. An impulse-haircut might
not inspire confidence. But do get regular grooming from a cosmetologist
you trust.
- Have wardrobe choices in order
Best Wardrobe Choices for Digital Photography
Avoid small stripes or fine patterns. Choose large patterns instead.
- Choose organic, floral and paisly patterns over mechanical designs.
- Solids are better than patterns.
- Avoid large areas of white or light pastels. These colors can lack
texture on camera. White in a smaller area, like a collar is OK.
- V-necks are more flattering than scoops. Scoops are more flattering
than strapless.
- Large areas of black can also lack detail. Try charcoal and textured
fabrics instead.
Make-Up Tips for Photo Days
- Foundation is more important than decoration.
- Contour and highlight are part of foundation.
Metalic eyeshadow can reveal lines around the eyes. Try matte finish.
- Blue eyeshadow is only allowed on young fashion models. For everyone
else, it has an aging effect. Use Fall colors and earth-tones.
- Glitter sometimes makes digital media look tacky.
- Do: gloss the lips.
- Don't: let your nose get shiny.
